She was a resident of Orland. Laura was married to Marion B. Hyde for 48 years and then later was married to John Thomas for 26 years.
Laura loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. For the past ten years she was very active in the church. She had been a Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, music director, and had a sundry of other responsibilities.
While married to John she was ordained as a minister. She was a prayer warrior and her other love was music. Over the years she has taught many young children how to play the piano. She will be missed by all whose loves she as touched.
Laura is survived by her children, Dolores Reed, Bud (Ida Mae) Hyde, Bill (Chan) Hyde; step-children, Verne (Julie) Thompson, Cliff (Sharon) Thompson, Rodney Lane, Chuck Thompson, Elaine Winston, Alva Dollarhide, Floyd Thomas, and David ( Patty) Thomas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and her half brother Art Adams.
Funeral services are scheduled to take place Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 2 p.m. at F.D. Sweet & Son in Orland. A burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Orland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capay Assembly of God Church, Benevolence Giving Fund.
