BELLE, Mo., Jan. 18 -- Mrs. Permelia C. Murray, oldest resident of the community, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lillie M. Wills, Wednesday morning, January 8. Mrs. Murray had not been ill and had been in the best of health for a woman her age. She suffered a sinking spell and death was gradual. She was in the early nineties, relatives said.

She was the daughter of William and Nancy Harrison, and was born near Broadway; later marrying at the age of 15 years. Her husband was Lafayette Murray, a veteran of the Civil war, who died July 11, 1924. To them six children were born, the three oldest dying in infancy. The living are, Mrs. H. H. Smith [should read Andrew J.] of Vernon, Texas, W. S. Murray of St. James, and Mrs. Wills. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon. Burial was in the cemetery at High Gate.
