Graduate, Bethany High School, 1930. Married, Elmer F. Olson of Elsie Oct. 9, 1938. Moved to San Fernando, Calif., and worked during World War II at the Flare Power Plant at Pacoima, Calif.

She returned to Grant and later to Lincoln where she and Elmer farmed until his death in 1962. Winifred was one of the cooks at Lincoln Lutheran Junior High School from its inception and stayed 10 years. On Nov. 6, 1975, she married Alco W. Baker in Rapid City, S.D.


Member, Faith Lutheran Church. Enjoyed sewing, cooking, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors: one son, four sisters, two brothers, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husbands, Alco Baker and Elmer Olson; parents; brothers, Thurman, Gene.


Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Roper & Sons Funeral Services, 4300 0 St. Pastor Jerome Troester.

Visitation: 2 p.m. Saturday until time of services, funeral home. Memorials to National Kidney Foundation of Nebraska for Research, 7101 Newport Ave. Suite 301, Omaha 68152.
