Willis E. Brokaw was born in Lynn county, Iowa, April 22, 1869, and passed away the morning of May 23, 1951, at his home,, 2740 E. Euclid, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 1 day. At the age of one year he moved with his parents to Adams county, where he grew to manhood. He was married Dec. 24, 1903, to Inez Mills, who survives him as do their seven children: Wesley of Mitchelville, Earl of St. Charles, Fern Chandler of Hannibal, Mo., June of Lenox, Carl and Roland and Hazel Cross of Des Moines. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Crista Caskey of Collins, Mont., nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Thelma in 1926, also a granddaughter, Shirley Chandler in 1947. He reared his family in and around Adams county, where he was well known. 17 years ago he moved to Des Moines, where he lived at the time of his passing. His illness was of short duration, lasting less than two weeks. Funeral services were con ducted from the Boyd Roland funeral home in Corning on Friday, May 25, with the Rev. Merwin Coad officiating. Pall bearers were nephews of the deceased: Charlie Brokaw, Walter Brokaw, Leo Brokaw, Stanley Brokaw, George Brokaw and Merrill Riley. Lenox Time Table, Lenox, Iowa, Thursday, May 31, 1951
