Charlie B. Wright, long-time member of the Mayfield City Council, died at 4 p.m. Thursday at his home 623 South Seventh Street. He was 83 years of age and a retired Merit Clothing Company employee.
Mr. Wright served on the Council from 1953 until 1972.
He is survived by two brothers, Ed Wright, Mayfield, and Launcy Wright, Paducah, and two sisters, Mrs. A. B. Crawford and Mrs. Charles Harris, both of Mayfield.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Byrn Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. E. Thomas Wright and the Rev. Carey Puckett, and entombment will be in Highland Park Mausoleum.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Greg Sasseen, Ronnie Morris, Rickey Morris, Jerry Miller, Gene Spain, and Jerry Graham.
