Joseph Anesi Found Dead In His Apartment

Joseph Floyd Anesi, 66, was found dead this morning at 8:15 in his apartment at 401 E. Harrison where he had resided the past three weeks.

The body was found by Ida Mae Frank, also a resident of the house, who reported that she had seen Mr. Anesi at 10 o'clock Monday night.

Ray Johnson, Adair County Coroner, said that Mr. Anesi had been in failing health with a heart condition and death was attributed to natural causes. He also reported that there would be no inquest.

The son of Louis and Tressa Cherry Anesi, he was born May 2, 1907 in Adair County. He was never married.

Surviving are four brothers, L.P. ("Pete") Anesi of 215 S. Florence, Johnny Anesi of 1801 E. Normal and Selio Anesi of Novinger and one sister, Mary Fickel of 800 N. Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Anesi was a life-long resident of Adair County and had had several business interests in the Kirksville area until his retirement due to ill health.

He was a member of the Mary Immaculate Church.

During World War II he served with the United States Navy.

The body is at the Davis Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Services Set For Joseph F. Anesi

Funeral services for Joseph Floyd Anesi, 66, of 401 E. Harrison will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Flanagan, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Novinger cemetery.

Mr. Anesi died unexpectedly Tuesday morning in his home.

The body is at the Davis Funeral Home where rosary will be said Friday evening at 7:30.

Bearers will be: Roy McClure, Claude Stanton, Hoffer Gasperi, John Chiarottino, Melvin Johnston and Joe Iransano.
