SHERMAN - Lucille Parrett passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at the age of 90. She was residing at the Renaissance. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Neill Morgan of the Covenant Presbyterian Church will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Beckett, Alan Chambers, Lorin Felderman, Kurtis Felderman, Ronald O'Gorman and Keith O'Gorman.
Annie Lucille Beckett Parrett was born Oct. 17, 1919 in Whitewright to Samuel and Altha Ann Beckett. She was the third of four children.
She attended Sherman schools, graduating in 1937. She then attended Austin College where she graduated in 1941. While attending Austin College she met William Parrett. They were married in 1943.
While living in Ohio she received a master's degree in education from Ohio State University. She taught in the Richardson School District for 20 years, retiring in 1976.
After retirement the Parretts moved to New Braunfels before returning to Sherman in 1984. Lucille was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and several local service organizations.
Mrs. Parrett was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, a brother, two sisters and a nephew.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Anne Felderman and husband David; granddaughter, Stacie Anne Meier and husband Randy; grandsons Lorin William Felderman and wife Vicki; Kurtis Ray Felderman; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Colin, and Ian Meier; Lane, Jace, Kylie, and Devyn Felderman and Keegan Felderman, all of Maquoketa, Iowa; two nieces, seven nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
