Albert Arnes was the son of Alexander Cornelius Pedersen Arnes (1841-1925) and Randine Adrianne Olsdatter (1843-1916). He was the eldest of 7 kids.

The Arnes family and grandmother Helene immigrated to America in May 1883 and arrived at the Philadelphia port. They migrated to Crookston, Minnesota.

Albert Arnes married a Swedish woman, Christine Anderson, on November 5, 1894. Albert and Christine were married in Polk County, Minnesota, USA. Their witnesses were Mr. Peter Ramstad and Mrs. Annie Schollert. Annie is the wife of the minister, Emil T. Schollert.

The couple had four children:
