Parents were William and Eleanor Stotler Zahniser.

Married Lucy North June 14, 1846 in Mercer County, PA.


John L. Zahniser Dead.
At his home in Jackson township, aged 88 years, John L. Zahniser , father of Johnson and Daniel Zahniser, of this place, died Sunday, than whom no citizen of Mercer county was more respected and esteemed. Deceased was one of the pioneers of the township, having been born at the domicile of his death, living an exemplary life, commanding the respect of his every acquaintance. In him Jackson township loses one of her best citizens and one who placed honor and integrity above all else.

Besides Johnson and Daniel Zahniser, of this place, a number of other children survive him. Funeral Tuesday at 1 o’clock followed by interment in the Jackson Center cemetery.
