Obit. Mr Presson died yesterday at 2:30 from heart problems, he completed his 65 birthday last Sunday. He had been ill for several months. He came to Charlotte during the War, conducting a succesfull bussiness in general merchasdise, for several years. At the time of his death he was a Police officer.
He was a member of Tryson Street Methodist Church. The funeral will be conducted at his residents on East Seventh Street at 10 O'clock, by The Rev.C.E. Todd. Pall-bearers will be, Messrs, Joseph McLaughlin, Thomas Sprinkle, M.F.Kirby, D.F.Dixon, M.L.Browm, and C.P. Wheeler.
1860 census shows them living in Portsmouth, Va.
1870 census shows them living in NC, 8 children, Levi & Charlie died before 1870.
Later moved to N.C. where he died and is burried at Elm Wood Cemetery.
Sept. 7, 1870 Benjamin purchased Sec.B lot 13 (24 X 24) for $25.00. Wife and most children are buried here.
