Charles Y. (Doc) Abbott, 83, of 2117 Carter Ave. was dead on arrival at King's Daughters Hospital at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday after suffering a hear attack at his home.
He had been employed as pharmacist at the Sun Cut-Rate Drug Store for the past 24 years and had also worked as a pharmacist at Jenkins and Louisa.
A native of Louisa, Mr. Abbott was born Oct. 23, 1879, a son of the late James and Arminta Diamond Abbott. He was a graduate of the school of pharmacy of Ohio Northern University at Ada, Ohio.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Jenkins Lodge F. & A.M.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Mary Goble Abbott; and one sister, Mrs C. J. Carey of Ormond Beach, Fla.
Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery at Louisa
