Services for Mrs. Virginia (Jennie) Metcalf, widow of George Metcalf, were held at the home Saturday, November 8, at two o'clock. Rev. E. Ray Wilson officiating, with burial in Caro cemetery. She died at her home at 117 Hooper street Thursday morning after a long illness. She was born in Belmont County, Ohio June 21, 1861 and came to this county with her parents in 1882. Two years later she was united in marriage with George Metcalf, who died six years ago. She had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry Avery of Caro; a grandson, Richard Avery of Harbor Beach; a sister, Mrs. M. M Hobart of Detroit of Fairgrove and Rochester and a brother, William Gibney of Peabody, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.
