He was a physician. He graduated from Bowdoin College, ME in 1835. He praticed in Wells, ME and in Woburn, MA. He was a postmaster in Swanzey, NH 1860-1872. Was also a representative and a Justice of the Peace. Moved to Marhboro, NH in 1872.
In 1860 census they lived in Swanzey, NH, his mother age 76 lived with them.
In the 1870 census they lived in Swanzey, NH with their 20 yr old son Everett.
In the 1880 census they lived in Marlborough, Cheshire, NH.
They appear to have had several servants.
On Jan 3, 1882 at age 75, he was living in Marlboro, NH and he married his second wife, Fannie Richardson Ferry, in Woburn, MA (her residence at time of marriage). It was her third marriage.
His 2nd marriage record says he was born in New Salem but his death record says he was born in Cambridge. Cause of death was heart disease.
