Milan--Tom Goodridge, 77 years old, died at his home here last night following a two-week illness. Mr. Goodridge had been Milan's night watchman and marshal for 43 years. He had been connected with the Washtenaw county sheriff's department for many years. The oldest son of Charles and Jane Goodridge, he was born in Yorkshire, England, April 3, 1868. He came with his parents to the United States in 1875. They made their home in Monroe county. Mr. Goodridge married Carrie Briggs May 12, 1893. Survivors include the wife, two sons, Lyle Goodridge, Dundee and Myrlan Goodridge, at home; five grandsons; two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren; six brothers, William, Burt, and Charles Goodridge, all of Milan; George Goodridge, Hanley, Canada; Fred Goodridge, Dundee, and Arthur Goodridge, Hillsdale, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Vandecar, Mooreville; Mrs. Elizabeth Hathaway, Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Lillian Paterson, Ypsilanti. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Stevens and Bush funeral home here. Rev. William A. Jonson will officiate and burial will be in Rice Cemetery.
