Emma had two children, Florence Melcher (1888-1963) and George Nelens Melcher (1890 - 1962) with her first husband, William Cramp Melcher (1863 - 1944). Thereafter, she had a huge family with patrolman Edward C Haggerty (1870 - 1941). Their marker remembers three children who tragically died in their first year of life, but they had many others who were blessed with long and full lives. Here is the unabridged version:

Henry "Harry" William (1894 - 1976)
Edward H (1896 - 1967)
Charles E (1897 - 1897)
Ferdinand G (1899 - 1971)
Carl (1901 - 1965)
Carl A (1902 - 1978)
Mary A (1904 - 1985)
Catharine M (1906 - 1906)
James J (1908 - 1971)
Margarett R (1910 - 1996)
Peter H (1910 - 1973)
Raymond T (1911 - 1911)
Elizabeth A (1913 - 1997)
Helen D (b. 1917)

Emma devoted almost all of her life to the Haggerty clan, so it is fitting to list her simply as Emma Huber Haggerty. She has countless descendants who will need to find her.
