The Hartford Day Spring, Wednesday, January 27, 1915, page 2 The funeral of Chas. Rawson was held at the home last Friday afternoon, Rev. J. Bennett officiating, and interment took place at the old cemetery. The neighbors and friends extend their sympathy to the relatives. Same paper, page 4 CHARLES W. RAWSON Charles W. Rawson was born April 26, 1841, in Nantucket, Mass., and died January 26, 1915, at his home in Hartford, aged 73 years, 8 months and 26 days. He came to Cass county, Michigan, in 1858. On September 7, 1864, he enlisted in Co. K, 12th Michigan Volunteer Infantry, and was mustered out at the expiration of his term of service at Camden, Ark., September 9, 1865. He was united in marriage to Harriet A. Ellis September 25, 1878. To this union two children were born, Florence who died in infancy, and Eugenia. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, one daughter, Eugenia, and a foster-son, Roy. Mr. Rawson had spent about thirty-five years at his late home three and a half miles northeast of the village, and was known and respected throughout the countryside. He was the last of a family of six children. Funeral services for him were attended at the home last Friday afternoon. Rev. J. Bennett officiating, and interment took place at the old cemetery on west Main street.
