Wm. Francis Corwin, a pioneer resident of Bangor township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Thompson, in southwest Bangor of April 27, at the age of 81 years. Mr. Corwin was born at Ypsilanti on September 26, 1836 and had spent his entire life in Michigan. On June 18, 1865, he was married to Sarah A. Sinseba, who died February 18, 1915. To this union were born five children, John Corwin of Hartford, Frank Corwin of Lake City, Mary Thompson of Bangor, Mrs. Rhoda Minch of Kalamazoo, and Eugene Corwin of Dowagiac. He also leaves ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Corwin was known as an industrious citizen who always devoted his best efforts to the welfare of his family. Funeral services for him were held at the home of his son, John Corwin, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. T. Porter Bennett, with interment at Watervliet.
