Louis Steven Bender, son of Mary and John Bender, was born July 30, 1894 at Humphrey, Nebr., and passed away at his farm home in the St. Libory community February 6, 1956 at the age of 61 years 6 months and 7 days.

He spent the early part of his life in and around Humphrey. For awhile he worked in Minnesota and 16 years ago he moved to the St. Libory area where he spent the remainder of his life.

On June 27, 1946 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Louella Lautenschlager.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Mrs. Louella Bender, one stepson, Leonard Lautenschlager of Palmer, 4 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Simon, Fred and Jerome Bender, all of Humphrey; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lena Phelfer of Humphrey and Mrs. Cecila Coldwell of Albion, many nephews and nieces and other relatives and a large number of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
