DIED: - At his home at Crofton, Nebr., on Sunday, March 6th at 12, o'clock M. of typhoid pneumonia, Elvis Brassfield, aged 33 years.
The deceased was born in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, thirty-three years ago and came to Knox County, six years since and located near Crofton on a farm where he remained until about a year ago when he moved into Crofton. The funeral services were conducted from the family home by Rev. Eiden of Aten on Monday under the auspices of the Modern Woodman lodge of Crofton and the body was brought to this city where it laid in the Bosse undertaking parlors until Tuesday morning when it was shipped to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa for interment in charge of his brother George Brassfield who was in attendance here from Homer, Nebraska. The deceased leaves a wife and [three] small children to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband and father. He was a member in good standing of the M.W.A. Lodge in Crofton. The Monitor unites with many friends of the deceased in extending condolence to the bereaved family. - The Bloomfield Monitor, Bloomfield, Knox County, Nebraska, March 10, 1904
