Age 73, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Saline Evangelical Home. She was born January 13, 1937 in Marion, Ohio to Paul and Irma (Chambers) Johnson.

As a young girl, Sue moved from Ohio to California with her family in a Model A Ford. Eventually Sue and her family returned to the mid-west, settling in Maybee, Michigan where she graduated from Dundee High School with the Class of 1955. On June 4, 1955 she married the love of her life, Billie S. Hindbaugh and together they had one son, Paul "Pete" William Hindbaugh. Bill and Sue owned and operated the London Roller Rink at Ostrander's Corners and then in partnership with her brother, they converted the roller rink to a country grocery store. She also worked for a short time at Milan Plastics and again with her brother at The Little Store in Milan. Sue attended the London United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women's group and the Monroe County Extension. She was a past Honored Queen of Bethel #44, Milan, International Order of Job's Daughters as well as a past Matron of Ruth Chapter #89 and Order of the Eastern Star in Dundee, Michigan. Besides caring for her family, Sue's favorite pastime was crocheting. Her wedding afghans and baby outfits were well known and was a cherished gift to receive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Paul Malcolm "Mac" Johnson, a special uncle, C. Herbert Chambers and her loving husband, Bill. She is survived by her son Pete (Meryl) Hindbaugh of Milan, a sister Melinda (Jerry) Bies of Scotts, MI, niece Amy (Michael) Kenny and their children Ryan and Kyle of Allegan, MI, niece Beth (Curt) Speece and their children Tawney, Lindsey Leonard and Eric of Vicksburg, MI, several cousins and their families in Ohio and a host of nephews.

Abiding by Sue's wishes, graveside services only, will be held 2:30pm Thursday at London Township Cemetery with Rev. Michael Clemmer officiating.
