Marshall's Obituary:
Marshall Sweet, 74, of Hartshorne, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Center, Muskogee. He was a native and lifelong resident of Hartshorne, born March 28, 1911.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mills Funeral Chapel, Hartshorne, with Rev. Harvey Lord officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, under the direction of Mills Funeral Home, Hartshorne.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Sweet, Harvey Sweet, Everett Russell, Richard Watson, Carlock Watson, and Bill Teakell.
Sweet and his wife Minnie were married February 1, 1933 in Hartshorne. He served in the United States Army in World War II and was a member of the Plunkett-Hancock Post #180 American Legion in Hartshorne. He was a member of the Hartshorne Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 29, 1983, a son, Theodore Sweet in Ocotber 1979 and by a sister.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Oleta Sweet of Houston; three sisters, Charlsey Fite of Hartshorne, May Lord of Chicago and Christine Fullwood of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a brother, Boyd Sweet of Santa Clara, California; three grandchildren, Ted Sweet of Houston, Patsy Oliver and Fred Sweet, both of Cleveland, Texas, and five great-grandchildren.
