Carleton Saxon was one of three sons born of Silas Jasper Saxon and his second wife, Marguerite "Maggie" (Coffman) Saxon. His brothers were St. Clair Saxon (b. 1874) and Cecil Saxon (b. 1896).

A number of relatives and friends of the young couple were present. A wedding dinner was served at the home of the groom's brother, St. Clair Saxon, near Wilcox.
