Born in Portland, March 16, 1875, she attended public school here and took college work at the university of California and Boston University. She started teaching in 1896 in the Old Ladd School on Portland Heights, remaining there until 1906. She transferred to Washington High School in 1907 where she taught English until retirement in June, 1940.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Ida W. Hardy, Mrs. Annie M. Schaver, and Mrs. Katherine Matthieu, all of Portland.
Funeral arrangements, to be announced from J. P. Finley & Son, are awaiting the arrival of a nephew from California.
