Leander Smithson was called "Lee" by his family. He was the son of Albert Francis Smithson and his wife Mary "Polly" Lance who were married in McCracken Co., KY in 1843. Leander went with his family to Barry Co. Missouri and then to Madison Co., Arkansas after his mother was widowed in the Civil War. He married Amanda some time before 1870. They are living in Indian Territory before 1888. Father of at least seven children--two deceased before 1900.
