James J. Derr, 81, of Austin RR 1, Cameron County, formerly of Harrisburg, died Friday in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Eulalia.
He retired as a clerk from the former Reading Railroad; was an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Rutherford VFW Post 1213.
He was the widower of Julia Mahek Derr. Surviving are two sons, Terry L. Derr of Gardeau and Col. Barry W. Mahek of Camp Hill; two sisters, Elsie M. Derr of Mount Joy and Dorothy Shirk of Palmyra; two brothers, Lester F. and Raymond C., both of Hummelstown; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Hummelstown, is handling arrangements.
