Last Rites held for I.G. Walker in Worth County
Sylvester, Oct 3, Funeral services for Ira Grady Walker 59, of R. 1, Sylvester, who died unexpectedly early Sunday at the Worth County Hospital were held at 4 p.m. today at Isabella Baptist Church, with the Rev. T.O. Morris in charge, assisted by the Rev. William T. Bodenhamer and the Rev. W. H. Wages. Burial was in the Isabella cemetery, with Banks Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Iverson Poole, Fred Ford, Zack Ross, Nick Reynolds, Elmer McCrary and Sim Bozeman.
A son of the late William Joseph Walker, and Mrs. Lena Eldora Moore Walker, he was born Dec. 22, 1896 in Chattahoochee County ( GA)
A veteran of World War I, he had been a resident of Worth for 30 years, whee he was employed at the Worth County Tractor Company.
Survivors include his wife, the former Noral Lee West; two daughters and, a son of Sylvester and three brothers Charlie Walker, Ty Ty, Ed Walker, Sumner; Richard Walker, Sylvester; four sisters, Mrs. Nead Arnold, Albany; Mrs. Alfred Apperson, Albany; Misses Beatrice and Clara Walker, Sylvester.
