Marion is the son of Samuel and Ruth (Dawson) Umstott. He married Anna Belle Gaskill, July 4, 1881 in Coshocton Co., Ohio. They had 5 children: John, Simon, George, Ruth, and Eve.
Marion's wife, Anna, is buried in Marysville Cemetery in Snohomish Co., WA.

GET NOTICE OF UNCLES DEATH
Mrs. Frank Jones and Mrs. Ira Stoffer of Newcomerstown received word Thursday of the death of their Uncle. Marion Umstott, aged 73 which occurred in Arlington, Washington, Jan 10, 1929.
Mr. Umstott was born in Guernsey Co. Ohio and spent his early life in Newcomerstown. He was a painter by trade. About 25 years ago the family moved to Arlington. He was the last member of the Umstott family.
He is survived by his widow, Belle Umstott, two sons, George of Hazel, Washington and Simon of Guernsey Co., two daughters Eva and Ruth both of Arlington.
Burial was made in the cemetery at Arlington, Washington
