Elvena Joy Shepler, 86, died Friday, December 29, 2006 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Leo, she was a graduate of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and voted "ideal nurse" by her graduating class. She was employed as a nurse with the hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Avalon Missionary Church and also a church volunteer. Survivors include husband, Leonard E. Shepler of Fort Wayne; sons, Doug (Joanne) Shepler of Fort Wayne and Tim (Lisa) Shepler of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, Angie, Natalie, Joe, Ryan, Haley and Luke. She was preceded in death by her son, Dave Shepler and daughter, Becki Shepler. Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue. Rev.
