Fletcher (Staff) -- Funeral for Buster C. Bridges, 89, who died at 5 am today [23 Jun 1977] at his residence in Fletcher[, Oklahoma] after a lengthy illness, will be at 2 pm [on] Saturday [25 Jun 1977] in the Fletcher[, Oklahoma] First Baptist Church.

Rev. Dennis Meyer, pastor of the Assembly of God Church here, and DeWayne Wright, pastor of the Fletcher[, Oklahoma] Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in [the] Fletcher Cemetery under [the] direction of Robbins Funeral home.

Mr. Bridges was born [on] Jan[uary] 20, 1888 in Hackett, Ark[ansas]. He was married to Katie Dean McCafferty [on] Sept[ember] 8, 1907 in Hackett[, Texas]. He came to the Fletcher[, Oklahoma] area in 1928 moving from McAlester[, Oklahoma]. He moved to Fletcher[, Oklahoma] in 1947. Mr. Bridges was a retired farmer and stockman.

Survivors include his wife of the home; four daughters: Mrs. Ruby McBee [of] Haileyville[, Oklahoma] and Ms. Lucille Bridges, Mrs. Hazel Love, and Mrs. Lois Schumann, all of Fletcher[, Oklahoma]; seven sons: Clifton [Bridges], Edwin [Bridges], and Donald Ray [Bridges], all of Fletcher[, Oklahoma], Hershel [Bridges] [of] Elgin[, Oklahoma], Charles [Bridges] [of] Monahans, Tex[as], Clois [Bridges] [of] Staten Island, N[ew] Y[ork], and Hiddon [Bridges] [of] Midland, Tex[as]; one brother: Claude [of] Moran, Tex[as]; one sister: Mrs. Alma Irvin [of] New Mexico; 40 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
