Mary Ellen Andert, age 73, passed away on Aug. 21, 2010, in Klamath Falls, Ore., from complications of lung cancer.
Mary was born to Michael and Lorna Kasper in Klamath Falls. Mary grew up in Klamath Falls, where she developed a love for horses starting in 1955, especially her horses Cricket and Star. She also recalled as a child being able to play in the middle of South Sixth Street. She attended Mills Elementary School in Klamath Falls, and high school in Salem, Ore. Mary was known by those who loved her to be a spunky, but patient person who was caring, easygoing and nonjudgmental.
During her adult life, she worked for Keno Radar, Kingsley Field Civil Service and Klamath Medical Service Bureau.
Mary married Robert Andert at Lake Taoe, Nev., on June 26, 1982.
She loved shopping and trips to the coast with her sisters. She enjoyed gardening and was greatly appreciated for her cooking, especially her deviled eggs and her morel mushroom gravy that was a favorite of the grandkids. Some of her favorite thinks to do were spending time hunting and fishing as well as caring for her dogs, cats and along list of furry friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Anders; son, Neal Kelley; son and daughters-in-law, Larry and Ramona Kelley, Jeff and Betsy Kelley, and Dale and Sara Andert; daughter and sons-inlaw, Judy and Scott Dixon, Jeannette and Jim Gansberg, and Laurie and Rick Boccard; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and Gale Collins and Martha and Reid Holderby; brother and sister-in-law, James and Doris Kasper; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Kasper, Donald Kasper, John "Tommy" Kasper; and sisters, Jean Newman and Eula Kasper.
