He was born in Scott County on August 16, 1898. He was the son of the late Alf Blevins and the late Ellen Litton Blevins, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lottie C. Blevins; and four brothers and two sisters. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the White Pine Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Volina Zekle of California, one brother, Gar Blevins of Jamestown; three sisters; Ollie Kidd of Junction City, KY; Poppie Blevins of Monticello, KY and Ema Yonders of Niota, Tenn. Three grandchildren along with several other relatives survive also.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24 from the chapel of the McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Troxel Cemetery.
