TOM SAMPLES COUNTY FARMER DIED YESTERDAY
Tom Samples, 41 year old Butler county farmer, died at Farmington at 4 a.m. yesterday following a lengthy illness. He was born in 1901 and had resided in the Green Forest neighborhood for several years. His wife, Mrs Alice Samples, died a year and a half ago. Survivors include five children, Margaret, Roberta, Sylvia, Walter and Samuel Samples, three brothers, Ross, Theodore and Delbert Samples of Detroit and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Brown and Florence Anderson of Poplar bluff. The Rev. William S. Smelser will officiate at the funeral services to be held at the Greer-Croy Chapel a 3 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
John Thomas Sample was the son of Walter F Sample (1870 - 1937)and Emily A(Hanks) Sample (1886 - 1937) married Alice Mae Mounts on Jan 23,1926.They had five children.
