VALLEY -- Mr. Harold A. Irvin, 89, of Valley died Sunday, AMrch 9, 1997, at Lanett Geriatric Center.

Funeral services ar scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with Dr. Jerone King and the Rev. J. H. King officiating. Burial will follow in Shawmut Cemetery.

Mr. Irvin is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Billie Ann Dykes of Franklin, Tenn. and Mrs. Manda Smoot of Lanett; his son, Hylyard Irvin of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Born May 30 1907, in Milltown, Ala., Mr. Irvin was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawmut in Valley. He was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperell's Shawmut Mill with more than 50 years of service.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
