Hannah J. Worley was born in Liberty, Casey County, Kentucky, November 2 1832 and grew to womanhood where she early gave her heart to God and united with the Methodist Church. On October 27th 1852 she was united in marriage to Daniel Lane. They later moved to Iowa, where he preceded her to the "Great Beyond" fourteen years ago. To this union were born eleven children, three boys and eight girls.
Four children are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother, George Lane of Lineville, Iowa, Mary Nelson of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mrs. Vanderpool of Palmer Lake and Mrs. Betz of Monument. Friday evening Mrs. Lane suffered a stroke of paralysis and failed rapidly and passed away, Tuesday evening, without any apparent suffering. Everything was done that loving hands could do to prolong her life but to no avail.
Being of a very quiet disposition, very few were acquainted with "Grandma Lane" since she came to make her home with her daughter Mrs. Betz. But those few knew her only to love her.
The remains were taken to her old home in Lineville, Iowa, where she will rest beside her husband.
