From Owen County Democrat 23 March 1916:

Elsie Elizabeth Blair was born July 7, 1911 and spent her brief life of four years and eight months and passed on to the eternal home March 17, 1916.

She was a bright, happy, healthful child until more than a year ago when she was stricken with the disease from which she was not able to recover. She was so quiet and patient in her sickness that she won the love and sympathy of all who came in contact with her, Though her life was so short, it has left its influence for the good on the lives of all who knew her.

Funeral services at the home Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by F.M. Davidson.
