He worked as an electrician for McDonald Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, OK in the early 1950s and for Mayes County Department of Transportation later.
He subcontracted with his backhoe and dump truck to help dig utilities for new construction and also to dig numerous graves. This also came in handy in digging out his own driveway and that of his neighbors after heavy snow storms.
He also had three sisters who survived him: Nora (Mrs Roy Haley); Mary (Mrs Joe Zummer); and Oieta (Mrs Arthur Englehardt).
