Son of the late Fate and Minerva Alexander Ward, he was born April 5, 1910 in Putnam County.
Bro. Ward was a Church of Christ minister for 57 years.
His family includes his wife, Ruth Gentry Ward of Cookeville; two daughters, Dean Thomas and Emma Jean Burchett, both of Cookeville; two sons, John A. and Edward L. Ward, both of Cookeville; one sister, Dorothy Vaughn of Cookeville; 13 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren and four greatgreatgrandchildren.
