Bertie Lee "B.L." Counts, age 75, of 187 McCray Dr., died Saturday, April 11, 1987, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer in the Hayters Gap Community and former owner and operator of IGA Foodlines in Saltville. He had served 20 years on the Washington County ASCS Committee and also served on the Washington County Welfare Board. He was a member of the Lindel Church of Christ. Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Helen Chapman Counts of Abingdon, one daughter, of Abingdon; three brothers: Albert Vernon Counts of Bristol, Bob G Counts of Tallahassee, Fla. and Jim D. Counts of Indian Trail, NC.
