Atkisson – Wood
Two of the well known young people of Texas county were united in the holy bonds of matrimony last Saturday evening at the residence of Esq C. C. Tuttle, just south of town, that gentleman officiating. They were Mr. James William Atkisson of Raymondville, and Miss Tressie Wood of Houston. The groom is the son of Prof. and Mrs. S. E. Atkisson, the youngest son, and like his father, he is a good musician. He is also a very fine young man who stands well in the community and among his acquaintances. The bride is the only daughter of Mrs. Callie Wood-Thompson and of former Sheriff Aaron Wood, deceased. She is a graduate of Houston High School and has taught in the rural schools of the county. Tressie is a handsome young lady and just as good as she is handsome. Mr. Atkisson is to be congratulated on capturing such a splendid girl for his life companion and they can carry with them all along the pathway of life the good wishes of a large circle of friends. The Herald joins in these congratulations.
