Mary E. Wray, 81, of Wooded Way, South Bend, Ind., died at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wray was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Kokomo, Ind., to the late John Lesley and Alma Hattie (Muessel) Sailors, and had lived in South Bend since 1937, coming from Bloomington, Ind.

On May 27, 1944, in South Bend, as Mary E. Sailors, she married G. Robert Wray, who died on Oct. 21, 1970. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Sailors. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Wray Thomas of Marblehead, Mass., and Nancy J. Wray of Lyne, N.H.; one son, John R. Wray of Aurora, Ill.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth E. Thomas, Lisa M. Dalton and Norman (Jean) Dalton; one sister, Martha J. East of Bloomington; and by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wray was a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church of South Bend, the Women's Association of the church, Junior League of South Bend, Service Guild, and was a member and past president of the University Women's Club.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28th, in the First Presbyterian Church, 333 W. Colfax Avenue, with Rev. David Morrow officiating. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends in the parlor of the church following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 333 W. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46601; or to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. The Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
