Peter Holtzhouse Rummel was the son of Emanuel Rummel (1806-1891) and Catherine Allshouse (1810-1898). He was born and raised in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. PML

MARRIAGE: Peter married Sarah Jane Boring of Green Township, Indiana County. The marriage took place at Cherrytree on 6 October 1853 with Rev. William Hammer performing the ceremony. They had 13 children. PML

CIRCULAR SAWYER: Peter was a Circular Sawyer (lumberman) and the family moved around frequently. They lived in Counties of Armstrong, Indiana, Jefferson, and Cambria. PML

DEATH OF SARAH: Sarah died on 11 April 1904 at West Taylor Twp. in Cambria County. She is buried at Benshoff Hill Cemetery, Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Peter was living in Johnstown in 1909; in 1910, he was living with his son, Herman in White Twp. in Indiana County. PML

DEATH OF PETER: Before his death, Peter was living in Somerset County, perhaps with his son, Aaron. He died at Lincoln Township in Somerset Co. on 11 April 1915. The cause of death was Bright's Disease, a chronic kidney disease. Influenza contributed to his death. His son, Aaron gave the information for his death certificate. Peter is buried at Saint Johns Evengelical Church Cemetery at Sipesville in Somerset County. PML # 48315564
