"Services for Harry A. Nelson, Sr., will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery under direction of the Meierhoffer-Fleeman funeral home. The body will arrive at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Nelson, 95, Miami, Texas, died Saturday morning at a Pampa, Texas hospital following a short illness.

Born in St Joseph, he had resided in Miami since 1907. He was the son of the late George and Osa Thompson Nelson. A wheat farmer and cattleman, he was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where his name is on the cornerstone.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Potter Nelson Guilmette of Chatsworth, Calif., and Catherine Virginia Nelson Harvey of Pampa; a son, Harry Alfred Nelson, Jr., of Miami; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in Texas at 4 p.m. today at the Carmichael-Whatley funeral home, Pampa." St Joseph News-Press, December 12, 1983
