DEATH OF MRS. HARP-Mrs. Perlina Harp, relict of Christian Harp, died at 11 A.M.
Saturday, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Avery Barton, on Cherry st. Her
serious illness was chronicled in The Union of Saturday. Mrs. Harp's maiden name
was Baldwin and she was a native of the town of Fenner, where she was born 80
years ago. She was first married to William Holdridge, who died many years ago,
and secondly to Christian Harp, who has also been dead some years. She is
survived by the daughter at whose home her last days have been peacefully spent,
by Mrs. John Harp, of Lenox, and by Mrs. Frank Tracy of Syracuse;also by one
son, Frank Holdridge, of Howard, S. D. One sister, Mrs. Dea. Maine, of Walworth,
N. Y., also survives her. Early in life she embraced religion and became a
member of the Methodist Church, in which faith she died an earnest Christian, a
fond mother, a devoted friend. The funeral will take place from the residence of
her daughter, Mrs. Barton, Cherry st., today(Wednesday) at 2 P.M. , Rev. W. H.
York officiating, and interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery.
