GEORGETOWN - Neeley James Smith, 92, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004, in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho. He was born May 29, 1911, in Gridley, Calif., to Samuel James and Helen Vilate Nelson Smith. He was the youngest of 14 children. He attended school in Georgetown, Idaho. He married Blanche Hayes on June 1, 1934, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various priesthood callings. He worked very hard running his farm, milking cows and raising horses and sheep, while working at Anaconda Copper Mining Company in Conda and Central Farmers Fertilizer Company in Georgetown.

Jim is survived by two daughters, Alice Ann (Fay) Jensen of Georgetown, Paulette (Kent) Alleman of Nounan; one son, Rodney (Diana) Smith of Green River, Wyo.; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Knutti of Georgetown; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great- grandchildren; one sister, LaReta Burdick of Yuba City, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Blanche, one son, Neil, his parents, six sisters, six brothers and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 9, at noon in the Georgetown LDS Chapel where friends may call that morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery
