Marie Cecile Blake Thayer, 88, of Sebring, Fla., died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 10, 2010 at Hope Hospice.
A native of Bristol, Conn., she had moved to Lake Placid, Fla., in 1985, later moving to Sebring. She had worked as a commercial and residential interior designer for Sears, Roebuck & Co. in East Hartford, S.P. Dunn & Co. in West Hartford, and Windows and Walls in Lake Placid, Fla. She had also owned and operated Something Special in Ellington.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years, Robert Blake; her parents, Joseph and Oglore (Lupien) Weeks; a daughter, Virginia Schreiter; a sister, Julia Souney; and a brother, Philip Weeks, who was MIA in World War II. She is survived by her husband, Donald Thayer of Lake Placid, Fla.; two daughters, Judith Blake of Lake Placid, Fla. and Donna (Glenn) Warnock of Vernon; a granddaughter, Kelly Marie Warnock; two grandsons, David and Daniel Schreiter; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Matthew Schreiter.
