Mrs. Josephine Phillips age 77, died at Dallas Thursday at 10 P.M. The body was brought over land from that place by the McCormick Funeral Service Ambulance.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock a the McCormick Funeral parlor, conducted by Rev. J. W. Whitefield, Methodist pastor. Interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Alabama and came to Texas in the early 80's and settled at Blooming Grove with her husband the late A. W. Phillips. The deceased had been a Christian since early in life and was a member of the Central Baptist church here at the time of her death. The beautiful floral offerings were silent testimonials of the love and esteem in which she was held. She had made her home in Dallas with her daughter, Mrs. Gaston Owens, for the past several years.
Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Minnie Ramsey, Ft. Worth; and Mrs. Gaston Owens, Dallas; two sons, W. A. Phillips, Mexia; and Ben Phillips, Fort Worth; 14 grand children and one great-grandchild.
The pallbearers were: Ed, Joe Dean and Doyle Phillips, Will Cobb, George Magee and Earl Brown.
