Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Church of St. Philip, Litchfield, for Johanna Theresa Barker, 78, who died Thursday at Talahi Care Center. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Litchfield.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Litchfield.
Johanna Barker was born in Eden Valley to Cornelius and Helen (Brummer) Sullivan. She married Ervin M. Becker on Sept. 19, 1939, in Eden Valley. They later divorced. The couple lived in Eden Valley where she worked for St. Cloud Poultry. She later worked at Litchfield Produce. She moved to Litchfield in 1970 and to Grove City in 1971. She married Aug. 2, 1974 Everett K. Barker in Sisseton, S.D. The couple lived in Grove City. She became a resident of Talahi Care Center in 1994. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, Litchfield; Church of St. Philip and St. Veronica's Guild.
Survivors include her daughters and sons, Kathleen Egan of Lake Elmo, Helen Beckius of Buffalo, Louise Daniels of Villard, Joyce Freund of St. Cloud, Marietta Sogge, Ervin Becker, Michael Becker and Gary Becker of Eden Valley; stepdaughter Sandra Lindquist of North Carolina; sisters and brothers, Margaret Wendroth and George of Grove City, Ann Marie Topp of Atwater, Henry of Eden Valley and Tom of Foley; 43 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 1996; daughters, Joan Lindgren and Darlene Kerzman; sister and brother, Mary Ackerman and Cornelius Jr.; and two grandsons.
