Robert Lowell Earl "Bob" passed away on August 13, 2010 from complications of Crohn's Disease.

Born on February 20, 1923 to Lowell and Mary Ann Earl in Lehi, Utah; Bob grew up in American Fork. He attended Utah State University and then joined the Army and fought with valor in World War II.

He married Gloria Beth Garvey in 1946 and settled in the Rose Park area. Bob worked for Utah Power and Light for 35 years, retiring as a line supervisor. He was a member of IBEW Local 57 for over 62 years. After the passing of Gloria, he married Marcene Judd Ball in 1982. He was a long-time member of Alpine Country Club where he enjoyed good friendships and spoke with pride of two holes in one and an amazing eagle shot.

Other hobbies included fishing, camping and traveling. A "snowbird" in St. George for many years, he spent his last six years as a full time resident. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jane, brothers Harry and Jack, his wife Gloria and daughter Mary Jane Hefferon.

He is survived by his wife Marcene, his sons Robert Douglas (Donna), Scott Garvey (Bonny), Roger Charles (Anna), and stepdaughter Susan (Wayne) Steele. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Anderson Mortuary, 49 East 100 North in American Fork.

A Visitation will be held prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the American Fork Cemetery. Military rites by VFW Dist IV.
