Hazel Alice "Elsie" Moore, 83, of Murphy, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown, Tenn.

Born July 20, 1925, in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Bertha Cearley Rich.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bear Paw Baptist Church in Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh Lloyd Moore; brothers, Jack Rich and Virgil Rich; sisters, Hassie Franklin, Carrie Frady and Maudy Ash.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, James Dale and Robin Moore of Forest Park, Ga., Lonnie Howard and Tina Moore of Epworth, Ga., Fred William and Vanda Moore of Marble and Robert Mack "Max" and Shelia Moore of Polk County, Tenn.; sons, Johnny Lee Moore and Frank Ford Moore, both of Culberson; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Glenda "Marie" and Scott Payne of Mineral Bluff, Ga.; brother, Robert Rich of Mineral Bluff, Ga.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Mount Pleasant Church in Murphy, with the Rev. R.L. Stiles officiating. Music was by Rex Kilpatrick and J.W. Patterson. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Lonnie William Moore Jr., Ricky Bell, Clyde Pierce, Lewis Ash, Rex Kilpatrick, Mark Golden, Kevin Ray and Dennis Rich.
