Lester W. Talkington, 84, formerly of Pearl, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 1987, at Utlaut Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
He was a retired welder for Shell Oil Company.
Born in Calhoun County, a son of the late William and Belle (Fanning) Talkington, he married the former Mae Nelson on Nov. 26, 1924. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Lucille Lenington of Greenville; a son, Everett Duane Talkington of Bethalto; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. today at Hanks Funeral Home in Pearl.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Wilson Ramsey officiating.
Burial will be in Green Pond Cemetery at Pearl.
Memorials are suggested to the Hess Cemetery in Pearl.
